CUTIMED SORBACT DRESSING

Main Specifications

  • The surface of Cutimed Sorbact dressing is impregnated with DACC (dialkyl carbamoyl chloride), a highly hydrophobic fatty acid derivative. In humid environments, bacteria and fungi present in the wound are attracted by the surface of Cutimed Sorbact following the natural law of the hydrophobic interaction. They are irreversibly captured by the fibers impregnated with DACC, and fail to return to the wound bed. The pathogens picked up by the napkin are disposed at each dressing change, which helps cleanse contaminated wounds, infected and colonized by reducing total bacterial load.
  • Physical attraction. The Sorbact method: Bacteria and fungi are inherently hydrophobic (water repellent). The Sorbact method takes advantage of this feature.

The advantages of not using an active chemical agent; The power Cutimed Sorbact to physically combat infection offers the following advantages:
• No bacterial or fungal resistance
• No delayed healing due to bacterial death, cell debris or release of endotoxins in bed
Wound
• No cytotoxicity
• No contraindications: it can be used in all patients and no limited time of use
• No known risks of allergies

  • Whenever the microbes disrupt the healing process, the Cutimed Sorbact is prepared to fight and prevent infection from contaminated wounds, colonized and infected. Cutimed Sorbact is available in the wide range of shapes and sizes to choose the most suitable dressing for each type of wound, according to its depth and the level of exudate.
  • Cutimed Sorbact absorbent pad: In the treatment of ulcers and wounds with exudate levels of low to moderate. They may be used to cover the wound under compression.
  • Cutimed Sorbact gauze bandage: Especially suitable for fistulas can also be used between the toes to prevent and treat fungal dermal infections.
  • Cutimed Sorbact Gauze: Ideal as contact with the wound film may also be used for cavity wounds.
  • Cutimed Sorbact round caps: To cavity wounds, can also be used prophylactically to reduce the bacterial load.
  • Cutimed Sorbact gel: A patch that combines gauze Cutimed Sorbact with hydrogel, to support the Sorbact method in dry or low exuding wounds, thus stimulating autolytic debridement and combating infection. To prevent the hydrogel from drying, covered with a foam pad with silicone contact film, as Cutimed Siltec.
